Brandon Warner

Brandon is an active teacher, performer, and composer based in Madison, WI, and has five years of experience teaching music. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2019, combining his two passions of music and education. He uses the "Analyze, Create, and Explore (ACE)" approach to lessons, ensuring students develop independence and explore their own unique voice. Brandon's primary goal for students is to live a healthy lifestyle in all aspects. Music is a powerful tool that has been proven to strengthen mental and emotional health, promote brain development, and practicing overcoming challenges through diligent patience and effort. Brandon has experienced these growth opportunities through Music and reaches out to help you discover these benefits!

When not thinking about music he can be found meditating, rock climbing, playing chess, and generally enjoying life with his girlfriend Taylor and their two elderly kitties, Max and Lily.

What instruments do you teach?

All of them! As part of his degree Brandon learned all traditional Western instruments. His primary instruments are trumpet, piano, and guitar. He is more than happy to work with other instruments and can help you find a more qualified instructor (for example he was asked to teach harmonica. Although without experience the family was more than happy to find someone who could teach their young child. The student has been part of the studio for 8 months!).

Yes, we offer music theory lessons as part of our curriculum to help students understand the fundamentals of music.

What is the duration of a typical music lesson at Warner Music Lessons?

Music lessons at Warner Music Lessons are typically 30 minutes. 45 minutes or 1 hour lessons are available depending on the student's needs and preferences.

What are your rates?

$50 per hour ($25 per half hour). $10 travel fee if traveling to the student's home. Brandon is flexible with payment and can work with your needs. Just ask!

Where do you hold lesson?

My apartment! Appointments at your home are an option provided I have the availability. I have 2 cats so if allergies are a problem, let me know!

Do I offer online lessons?

Yes! I use Google Meet.

Do you offer group lesson?

Yes! I need at least 2 students of the same instrument and similar musical abilities.

Where did you study? How long? What was your focus?

Brandon earned a Bachelor of Arts in K-12 Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater from 2013-2019 (5 years). While at Whitewater he studied Trumpet Performance with Dr. Frank Hanson and Composition with Dr. Jeff Herriott. Brandon completed his student teaching in the Cambridge school district under Holly Dow (Elementary General Music and Middle School Choir) and Nathan Gerlach (High School Band).
